Report Dated 06/23/98

Bradenton

No flies were detected yesterday. The last fly find was June 14th, with the total fly count at 553. A final aerial bait treatment is scheduled for tomorrow night, beginning around 10:00 pm, and concluding around 4:00 am. As usual, these times assume no delay due to weather conditions or mechanical difficulties. In any case, treatments will end by 6:00 am Thursday morning.

There are 3533 traps deployed in the area: 3164 Jackson, 86 McPhail, and 283 yellow panel traps.

Environmental Monitoring: Pending

Health Monitoring: No report

Sterile Release: USDA reports low emergence rates for the recent shipments of pupae from Guatemala. This apparently resulted in no release in MIAMI SPRINGS on Monday - with the next scheduled release set for today (6/23). I do not have information on releases scheduled in the Bradenton area, but will track that down tomorrow.

Umatilla

No flies were detected yesterday or today. The total count is 1315.

Ground bait treatments have begun in the half square mile treatment area resulting from last week's find.

There are 5493 traps deployed: 3990 Jackson, 1303 yellow panel, 208 McPhail, and 26 IPTs.

Environmental Monitoring: Results from drift data collected June 13th are:

Health Monitoring: No report
