Report Dated 08/15/98
Fly count: No flies were detected over the weekend, leaving the total count at 134 since the initial detection on July 9. The last fly was trapped August 10, 1998.
Trapping:There are currently 4518 traps deployed in a 207 square mile survey area: 3505 Jackson, 265 McPhail, and 748 yellow panel traps.
Treatment: I erroneously reported that the Southern block was not treated on Saturday. It was treated, as originally approved in the July 24 amendment to USDA's crisis exemption request. It will not be included in the remaining aerial treatments, unless additional flies are detected, and subsequent EPA approval is granted. Please accept my apologies for the confusion.
The 144 square mile regulated area remains unchanged.
Environmental Monitoring: No report
Health Monitoring: No report
